When running oracle form modules using Internet Explorer and JInitiator 1.3.1.x, the browser window opens and crashes before the applet starts and displays a JVM.DLL error. When using Firefox, there’s no problem at all. This is another one of the great issues with IE but fear not the fix is very simple.

Copy the jvm.dll from

C:\Program Files\Java\jre<version>\bin\client <-- Should be the version you are using with IE

to

C:\Program Files\Oracle\JInitiator 1.3.1.22\bin\hotspot <-- If you have more than one JInitiator installed put it in the latest version

Why this will fix the issue, more importantly why this issue is occurs, is beyond me but we have started having this issue out of the blue for some of our users. This doesn't affect all users even though everyone has the same image on their machines and recieves the same updates, which boggles the mind even further. This seems to be the only quick and easy fix we could find.
